Since the DRBL (Dundee Recreation Ball League) was organized on October 6, 1997, our program has been providing "excellent" facilities for our community youth. Over the years, we have added playing fields, fencing, backstops, full service concession stand with restrooms, new team equipment, field maintenance equipment, batting cage, pitching machines, cement dugouts with steel roofing and more. These upgrades occurred without yearly adjustments of our registration fees.
For those who may not be aware, unlike other surrounding communities, the DRBL does not receive financial support from a local Parks and Recreation entity. We are a 100% self funded non-profit organization. We solely rely on donations, sponsorships, fundraising and yearly registration fees.
In years past, we have been blessed with numerous local business- financial, labor, material and or sponsorship donation(s). Due to the present woes of our economy and decreasing sponsorship and /or donation(s)--DRBL has been faced with yearly rising program maintenance and management costs. These costs include, and are not limited to: safety equipment, umpire fees, insurance, field maintenance, concessions, electric, gas, water, trash removal and mowing costs at Rod Park.
DRBL is the largest youth program in our community. It provides the opportunity for over 400 children between the ages of 4 to 14years old, to participate in T-ball, softball and baseball. The Dundee Recreation Ball League also supports several 10U, 12U and 14U All-Star/Travel Teams, and the Dundee Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Baseball Club teams.
In order to maintain our current program(s) and move into the future, we are faced with the need to adjust our registration fees accordingly. We offer player sponsorship for those families of financial hardship. Just like years past, our goal is provide an opportunity for “all of our Dundee families”. to participate
If you would like to become involved, our “open to the public” DRBL Board meetings are held every second Tuesday at Rod Park 7-9pm.
To request a player hardship sponsorship for the 2011 Season, please send letter with registration form to:
